Both "in the library" and "at the library" are correct, but they are used in different contexts depending on what you're trying to convey.



In the library


This is used when you're physically inside the library or referring to being inside its walls. It focuses on being within the space.


I'm studying in the library.


I'm in the library looking for a book on history.


You can't talk in the library—it's a silent zone.


The librarian is helping me find a book in the library.



At the library


This is used more generally to refer to the location of the library. It doesn't necessarily mean you are inside the building.


I'll meet you at the library.


I’ll be at the library by 3 PM.


I was at the library when I found out I got the job.
